Who We Are

One Church, One Mission

The good news of Jesus Christ is the core of everything we do at Zion Lutheran Church.

Rooted in Word and Sacrament, we cherish Christ for His love, demonstrated by living, suffering, dying, and rising for us. At Zion, we prioritize Christ’s glory above all personal recognition, making Him the focus of our key gatherings—worship services, small groups, and community events.

Established in 1972 and located in Gainesville, Florida, we are proud to be part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), a global body that shares our devotion to Christ and His Word.

What We Believe

  • Rooted in God’s Word

  • Christ-Centered in Worship

  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit

  • Devoted to Prayer

Affirmation of Faith

  • The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.

  • God is triune: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • All people are sinful and in need of God’s forgiveness.

  • Jesus Christ, true God and true man, lived a perfect life, died for the sins of the world, and rose again on the third day.

  • Salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Christ alone.

  • Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are means of God’s grace, through which He strengthens and assures His people.

  • The Church is the body of Christ, called to serve and share the Gospel.

  • Jesus Christ will come again to bring His people into everlasting life.

Meet Our Pastor

Brian Wrobel

Hello! I think this is the section where I’m supposed to emphasize my normalcy and share my credentials, hobbies, and interests—as well as how much I love my family (I do!), the Gainesville community (I do!), the Gators (I do!), and other little nuggets about me or my family.

Instead of dropping my bio here, though, I’d much rather get to know you—and let you get to know me—through a shared conversation. Maybe we’ll find that we have lots in common, or maybe the only thing we share is the truth that Jesus loves you and me so much that He lived, bled, died, and rose for us. That wouldn’t be a bad starting point.

Either way, I’d love to meet you, perhaps over a locally brewed coffee or beer.

Give me a call or drop me a line at (352) 727-1133 or pastorbrian@ziongainesville.org
